I keep on thinking about that girl scout song…
Make new friends,
but keep the old.
One is silver,
the other is gold.
I don’t have time to write creatively…I am just going to write. Things are changing every second of every day, some things for the better and some for the “not so great”. Moral of the story is…with every thing that happens to us, we learn. People are entering our lives while others are taking little breaks and saying “see you later” for a while. While we find ourselves searching for a piece of us in the people we know and love and sometimes in people we do not yet know, we need to not forget that our relationships with others…whether heart warming or heart wrenching continuously teach us about ourselves. With every step, we move towards the ultimate goal of finding out who we really are, what we really love, who we really want to be. Those moments in life where we feel infinite, hold on to those moments forever and take them out of your pocket every once in a while when you need a reminder of how blessed you are. The moments of despair, heartbreak, complete confusion…remember to breathe in and breathe out. Every step is a step towards something silver, something gold, something new, and something old. Everything will be alright…we will all make it through. -

» Away she flew: I wouldn’t say it was life changing exactly, but our run today was...
I wouldn’t say it was life changing exactly, but our run today was profoundly beautiful. Dreams of Australia and summer road trips and most of all this tremendous, unbelievable crescendo that is building and building until all of us collapse together at graduation, exhausted and overwhelmed with emotion and experience.
Cartwheeling in the field and it looked like we were on top of the world: because we are on top of the world. Right now I feel as if everyone and everything I’ve ever felt something for in this place in these years is all there ever could be.
And it’s heartbreaking to think that it will disappear with a poof at 9am on the 23rd of May 2011. But only in a certain limited sense, and I refuse to buy into it.
The version of our history that I am projecting into the future is one in which we explode into a million fragments from the sheer force of these four years which have stretched and stretched to hold all of us in as we have ballooned out into fuller realizations of who we are, who we can be.
SNAP.
The true beauty, you will see, is in the unexplainable forces that will swing us around the globe, bouncing off of each other and into each other for decades to come.
I don’t believe in endings, only in beginnings.
